At TDP, we’ve always believed that great work doesn’t need to come at the expense of wellbeing. This July, we’re putting that belief into practice by trialling a shift in our working hours – starting the day at 8:00am and finishing at 4:00pm.
The goal? To give our team more time to enjoy the sunshine, recharge, and spend time with family – while still being there for our clients when they need us most. You’ll still receive the same fast, responsive service – just a little earlier in the day.
It’s not a radical idea – in fact, the workplace is changing all around us. In the UK:
- Over 4.2 million people now work flex‑time, with 62% having the right to work remotely at least some of the time (Stribe, 2024)
- 76% of workers believe flexible working supports their wellbeing, and two‑thirds say it boosts work–life balance (Onrec, 2024)
- One in three parents say reduced hours or term‑time working would significantly improve their family life (Amazon UK Workplace Flexibility Survey, 2024)
- Flexible working has been consistently linked to better mental health and job satisfaction (ResearchGate, 2023)
We’ll be running the new hours as a trial throughout July and gathering feedback along the way. If it’s working well for both the team and our clients, we’ll look to continue it into August.
